e-PD - Intention to cease trading with effect from 31st August 2020

 e-PD Cessation of Trading.

It is with regret that we have to announce the intention for e-PD to cease trading with effect from 31st August 2020, at the end of our subscription year.

Since the company formed in 2011, promoting the spirit of collaboration amongst all West Sussex schools and beyond in working for school improvement, some important factors have over recent years made it increasingly difficult for e-PD to operate and progress. This is a part of the reason why our board of Directors have reluctantly made the decision to cease operations.  Please be assured that the company is solvent and is more than able to meet its liabilities, including all credits held by schools and funds held for other entities.

Please click here to see a copy of a letter sent to all West Sussex school Headteachers in mid-May advising them of the details of this decision.

We are grateful to all our site users for your support and activity over the years - together we have advertised over 2,750 courses on a whole variety of subjects and taken more than 15,000 online bookings and many more from non-members.  Our various partners over the years have also helped to make e-PD the success it has been, especially The Key who have supported and worked with us almost from the start.

Discussions with The Key are ongoing to find ways in which West Sussex schools can continue to receive discounts which have been available through e-PD and we will publish information to help you once we know more.

e-PD staff will still be here till the end of August as we work on winding up the company but are only available by email at the current time.  Please message us using info@e-pd.org.uk if you want to make contact with us.

Since our announcement, we have received some lovely messages from staff at our schools indicating how much we will be missed - here are just a few to share with you.

Just to say we as a school are sad to hear the news that e-PD will be closing at the end of the year. You have provided a brilliant service!  I would also like to say thank you for all the help, support and patience you have given me when I phone up with daft questions.  (Walberton & Binsted Primary School)

We were so saddened by the news that e-PD were closing their doors as you have always provided a wonderful service and support.  (Swiss Gardens Primary School)

I totally applaud your wish to close the business while it's all still within your control, it's just such a pity it has become necessary.  I'm sure all the ePD staff will be very disappointed that such a well-intentioned and much-needed resource isn't able to keep going, but perhaps it will be some comfort to know that it is due to current circumstances and bears no reflection on the commitment and enthusiasm of all those involved.  Certainly, we as a school will really miss the support and professionalism ePD brings to so many training courses and CPD events.  (Midhurst Primary School)

We are disappointed to hear that you’re closing down e-PD at the end of this academic year.  I’m sure it has been a difficult decision. (Tangmere Primary Academy)

Very sad to see the end of e-PD. Hope all goes well for you and your colleagues in the future.  (Shipley Primary School)
