Our Team

Helen CobbinOperations Executive

Helen joined e-PD as Operations Executive in March 2018 on a part-time basis, taking over from the retiring Sue Peters who had been at the helm for the previous 5 years.

Helen is no stranger to e-PD, as for the past few years she has been the Every Child Counts Literacy trainer, running both the Dragon Hunters and the Pirate Writing Crew interventions for e-PD.  In addition to her e-PD role, Helen is also network manager for the East Horsham locality of schools so she has a sound understanding of the issues and areas of priority for schools.  She fully appreciates the need for collaboration between schools to share expertise to improve outcomes for staff and pupils.

Helen began her teaching career in Wandsworth, gradually heading south via teaching positions in Croydon, Kent and Surrey until taking up a Headship in West Sussex. She has worked across the primary phase and been an English and Science leader.  Being a governor of a school in a neighbouring authority also adds a wider view of the educational landscape schools are facing.

David Brewer – Company Secretary and Business Adviser

David worked for 25 years in the City of London in corporate services across the private, public and voluntary sectors and internationally, before entering the education sector as a strategic business manager at Millais School in West Sussex in 2006.

He has also worked as adviser and mentor in his business manager role and has worked as a consultant.  He is jointly credited, alongside Leon Nettley, with the establishment and development of e-PD Trust Ltd, including the e-PD website.   Now semi-retired, he is still on hand to help and advise with his business planning skills together with his deeper understanding of the complexities of the e-PD website.

Hazel Biggs – Senior Finance Technician

Hazel joined e-PD in early 2013 on a temporary basis to assist with formulating the first year-end accounts for the company and was persuaded to continue working on all things financial on a part-time basis.  In 2016 she became full-time to continue with the accounts for e-PD and taking on some of the administration, helping the team with conference planning and organisation.

Hazel has worked in accounts for almost 30 years in both retail and accountancy sectors in various parts of Sussex.  She enjoys the day-to-day challenges of e-PD and the fact that no two days are the same!
